The Story of Nostos

In 1980, Şevki Pekin left Istanbul for the village of Bademli, near Dikili, to design a house for one of his high school friends.

As he turned the corner by the restaurant Sunar'ın Yeri and caught sight of the sunset beside the historic customs building, that single moment was enough for him to fall in love with Bademli.

The 5,000-square-metre grove that would later become the birthplace of Nostos was gradually transformed into a way of life by Şevki Pekin and his wife, Leyla Pekin.

The grove is home to 87 olive trees, many of which are estimated to be around 250 years old, having grown naturally as part of the landscape.

In the years that followed, Şevki Pekin expanded his vision by planting 7,000 olive trees on a 250,000-square-metre estate near Çandarlı, 22 kilometres south of Bademli. Planted in 2006, the grove consists primarily of Edremit Yağlık olives, together with a smaller number of Domat trees.

We begin harvesting our olives early, typically during the last week of September. The olives are transported to the modern Angelos mill the very same day, where they are cold-pressed below 28°C. We bottle our extra virgin olive oil unfiltered, preserving its full natural character.

Both of our olive groves are complemented by iconic buildings designed in harmony with Şevki Pekin's modern architectural vision.

Prepared with sincerity from beginning to end. We hope you'll feel it in every drop.

Wishing you good health, happiness, and bon appétit.
