VAHAP AVŞAR
2024
Vahap Avşar (b. 1965, Malatya) is a contemporary artist from Turkey. After completing his studies at Dokuz Eylül University and Bilkent University, he moved to New York in 1995 following an artist residency, marking the beginning of his international artistic career.
Working across themes of history, identity, memory, and cultural heritage, Avşar is known for works that draw upon archival materials, everyday objects, and collective memory. His work has been exhibited at leading galleries and institutions in New York, Istanbul, London, and internationally. Today, he continues his practice between New York and Istanbul.
Nostos' journey began with the vision of architect Şevki Pekin, whose work was defined by simplicity, originality, and an uncompromising commitment to quality. Together with Santimetre Studio and Tulya Madra, who share this vision, we embarked on a project that invites a different artist each year to create a new limited-edition design.
For this year's edition, we are delighted to present a design by Vahap Avşar.
- Each product is entirely handmade.
- Made from 100% porcelain.
- Each design is produced as a single edition and is limited to a total of 60 pieces.
- Due to the nature of porcelain, these are delicate products; careful handling is recommended.
